Anti-Albanian chants in Kumanova, North Macedonia, no suspects identified two weeks after incident

Two weeks after racist and anti-Albanian chants during the North Macedonia–Romania basketball match in Kumanova, authorities have not identified anyone responsible for the incident.
The Ministry of Interior in North Macedonia told Portalb.mk that they are “taking measures to fully clarify the case” regarding those who spread hate speech during the match.
The incident occurred on 2 August. Spectators chanted slogans such as “The good Albanian is a dead Albanian” and “Gas chambers for Albanians,” in the presence of Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski and the government delegation. Mickoski later condemned the chants, adding that he “did not hear them” while in the arena.
The event has sparked strong reactions among Albanians in North Macedonia, Albania and Kosova. Officials called it an attack on coexistence and equality.
