Balkan tour, Rama to Kristo: Enable the agreement on free movement for the Albanian citizens of Kosova

The Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borjana Kristo, in the joint conference with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, after the meeting held between them and the respective delegations, has evaluated the good relations between the two countries.

Kristo said that Bosnia-Herzegovina is not ready to approve the free movement of citizens of Kosova and the common market.

“We are not ready to approve two initiatives for free movement and the common market. We are dealing do that these initiatives become reality.

After this meeting, we will continue the intensity of relations between the two countries and in the region,” said Kristo.

While Prime Minister Rama said that preparations are in place to open the Embassy of Albania to Sarajevo.

“We want to strengthen the relations between the countries and we are preparing for the opening of the Albanian embassy to Sarajevo,” said Rama.

The latter also spoke also on the lack of the free movement for Kosova Albanian citizens in Bosnia-Herzegovina, where he said that it is pointless to have issues of this nature.

“It is no secret that Albania also protects the interests of Albanians in Kosova and other countries, and I told the prime minister that we are interested in the Berlin Process agreements and the agreement on free movement for the Albanian citizens of Kosova, to be enabled because it is pointless for us to have issues of this nature that come down to the level of citizens, while politics should serve citizens without distinction.

I want to believe that just as Serbia itself has signed those agreements, Bosnia-Herzegovina too will do so,” said Rama.
