Socialist Party parliamentary group leader Taulant Balla met today with Anton Hofreiter, Chair of the German Bundestag’s Committee on European Union Affairs.

The meeting focused on Albania’s European integration process. They also discussed progress in the EU accession negotiations and close cooperation with Germany in support of Albania’s path to EU membership.

Balla praised the continued support from the German Bundestag and the Federal Government. He stressed the importance of this partnership as Albania moves towards EU membership.

“Gratitude to the Bundestag and the Federal Government for their continued support for Albania’s European path. We are moving forward towards completing the negotiations by 2027,” Balla said.

The two sides also discussed further reforms linked to the integration process. They stressed the importance of stronger interparliamentary cooperation and continued support from European partners.

Albania remains committed to meeting its obligations under the accession negotiations. The country aims to make steady progress towards EU membership.
