The mayor of Shkodra, Benet Beci, hosted the Minister of Infrastructure of Kosovo, Liburn Aliu, and MP Mimoza Kusari in a meeting today.

The Minister of State for Relations with the Parliament, Elisa Spiropali, was also present at the meeting. Benet Beci shared in a post on social networks that during this meeting, they discussed in detail the Albania-Kosovo railway project. The project aims to give another dimension to Shkodra and Gjakova, as well as to the entire region, transforming Shkodra into a regional center.

Beci mentioned that “our joint projects will continue even further with shared investments in infrastructure.” Minister Aliu described the Prishtina-Durra railway project as very important.

He mentioned that after initiating the feasibility study process, intensive work for the realization of one of the biggest infrastructure projects for both countries will commence.

This ambitious project has received support from both governments during joint meetings, where they expressed the necessity of the railway connection between the two states.
