The mayor of Shkodra, Benet Beci, hosted the MP of the Assembly of Montenegro, Genc Nimanbegu, along with the members of the Central Council of the Force, Granit Hoxha and Lavdim Kroma, deputy secretary for municipal activities and housing issues in the Municipality of Ulcinj.

In a social media post, Beci stated, “We have had a fruitful cooperation with Genci that dates back to 2015 when, as the head of the Albanian Development Fund, we initiated discussions and ideas to realize the navigation of Buna, the construction of bicycle tracks on both banks, the establishment of border points Skje – Zogaj and Shënkoll – Pulaj, and the construction of a bridge over Buna. Initially, it was just an idea, but over time, amendments and projects prepared, and today we discussed the concrete steps for their implementation.”

“Genci informed me about Montenegro’s legal obligation to implement navigation in Buna, and we agreed on the need for continued collaboration between the two parties. Additionally, we discussed the exceptional opportunity for cooperation and economic development presented by the international project of the Adriatic-Ionian highway, which will connect the southern region of Croatia with Montenegro and Shkodra through a four-lane road,” said Beci.
