Begaj Meets with Kosova’s Minister of Justice: Advancing the Durrës-Prishtina Railway Project

President Bajram Begaj held a meeting with Albulena Haxhiu, the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kosova, to discuss significant initiatives and reforms undertaken by Kosovan government, particularly in the realm of justice.
President Begaj praised the efforts towards alignment with Euro-Atlantic policies, noting that “it is a long and challenging process.” He emphasized that implementing reforms in the interest of citizens is essential for fulfilling their shared aspiration of EU integration.
Meeting highlighted the strong collaboration between the institutions of Albania and Kosova. President Begaj stressed the importance of advancing this cooperation in strategic projects, including the Port of Durrës, the Dry Port of Prishtina, and their connection via the Durrës-Prishtina railway, which will enhance interlinking of two countries.
He pointed out that cooperation among Albanians plays a critical role in ensuring stability, security, sustainable development, and a shared Euro-Atlantic future for both countries and the region as a whole.
Additionally, President Begaj reaffirmed Albania’s commitment to increasing recognition for Kosova and supporting its membership in international organizations. He underscored the need for joint strategies to effectively present the undertaken reforms and intended progress.
“Albania has always been and will always be there for Kosova,” President Begaj declared, asserting that the Republic of Kosova is an irreversible reality, regardless of any hostile attempts that are doomed to fail.
