Berlin Process Summit, EC President Ursula von der Leyen arrives in Tirana

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, arrived in Tirana this Sunday afternoon (October 15), within the framework of the Berlin Process Summit that is expected to be held the next day. Von der Leyen was received at the airport by the Minister for Relations with the Parliament, Elisa Spiropali and the EU ambassador, Luigi Soreca.
“It was a special pleasure to welcome the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, today in Tirana, within the framework of the Berlin Process Summit. This summit is another important international event for Albania, which takes place for the first time outside the borders of the EU, with the participation of 6 prime ministers of the region, leaders of EU member states as well as high-level representatives and international organizations of over 25 countries,” writes Spiropali.
Around 15:30, the EC President holds a meeting in the Presidency with the head of state, Bajram Begaj.
31 leaders of the EU, 6 countries of the Western Balkans, will meet in Tirana, at the Berlin Process Summit for the Western Balkans, an initiative launched since 2014 as at the initiative of former German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
