Kosovo-Serbia dialogue is more necessary to have stability in the Western Balkans, among the citizens but also towards the path to the EU. That was the essence of the long speech of the Chancellor of Germany, Olaf Scholz, at the Berlin Process summit highlighting among other things,  the normalization of relations between Pristina and Belgrade.

Scholz said that the need to leave behind the conflicts of the past is key for stability and for preserving the values ​​of the European Union.

“Ladies and gentlemen, we are gathered here today to sign these agreements as a matter of urgency, prompted by Russia’s brutal war against Ukraine. And we have gathered here to ensure the security and protection of the values ​​of the European Union. It is time to put an end to the wars and conflicts that have been going on for years, which also hinder the path to the EU.

The normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia must be accelerated, so let’s do it. The citizens of the Western Balkans can count on Germany and they can count on the Berlin process to continue supporting them. Only together, we will work for the European Union. Only together, we can protect the values ​​of the European Union and the rule of law. And only together we can face the risks that our continent and the whole globe can face.’- said Scholz.
