Blinken supports the membership of Albania and the Western Balkans in the EU

On several occasions, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has confirmed that he is in favor of EU enlargement in the Western Balkans, a region in which our country is included.
Blinken had a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Dimitar Kovacevski, where he welcomed the new moment of the dialogue with Bulgaria and said that a solution to the issue between the two countries will follow during the French EU presidency.
The US Secretary of State also stressed that Washington’s support stems from North Macedonia’s full commitment to NATO values, as evidenced by the country’s support for Ukraine, which is fully in line with all allies.
The Prime Minister of North Macedonia stressed to Secretary Blinken that there is no time to lose and that any further delay could have serious regional consequences and open the door to increase the influence of third parties in the region.
During the talks, Kovacevski and Blinken expressed satisfaction with the effective harmonization and coordination of NATO and the EU in sanctioning Russia, as well as the organization of effective support for Ukraine, which was joined by North Macedonia.
