Borrell reminds the Serbian Prime Minister that their path to the EU passes through Pristina

The representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, has rarely conveyed a clear message to Serbia about the dialogue with Kosovo during the press conference at the end of the EU-Serbia SAA Council. “We appreciate Serbia’s readiness to engage in dialogue. We need to make rapid progress in the dialogue on the implementation of previous agreements and move forward with binding comprehensive legal agreements,” Borrell said.
The Head of European Diplomacy continued: “We expect Serbia and Kosovo to make progress regarding their obligations in the framework of the Pristina-Belgrade dialogue. Both parties have unfulfilled agreements, which already need to be addressed. It is important to create the right climate for dialogue and for both sides to be restrained by unilateral issues or uncoordinated actions, or such rhetoric. Borrell was very clear in the message of Serbia’s path to the European Union: “Serbia’s step on the path of European integration will depend on the strengthening of the rule of law, fundamental rights and dialogue with Kosovo.”
