British Sculptor Deacon Opens Exhibition at COD

Last night, the Center for Openness and Dialogue (COD) opened the exhibition “Range” by Richard Deacon.

Deacon is one of the most prominent contemporary British sculptors. His exhibition in Tirana is part of the UK Cultural Week and presents a collection of sculptures and lithographs shown for the first time to the Albanian public.

The opening ceremony of “Range” took place in the presence of Prime Minister Edi Rama, representatives of the British Embassy in Albania and the British Council, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports, media, and art enthusiasts.

The exhibition will remain open to the public until December 12.

“Range” offers visitors a deep insight into the creative process and artistic philosophy of one of Britain’s most influential sculptors—winner of the Turner Prize in 1987 and a pioneer of contemporary sculpture.

The exhibition presents a new collection of works that combine ceramics, photography, and stainless steel, exploring the diversity of form, material, and scale. These works reflect Deacon’s continuous search for harmony between technical precision and creative experimentation, where language and form merge conceptually.
