-The Senate of the Republic of Venice convened urgently on December 4, 1399 to examine the rebellion of Shkodër and Drisht that were under the rule of the Republic of Saint Mark. It ordered his leaders to find the main causes of the rebellion, to organize for its suppression and the preservation of Venetian rule.

-On December 4, 1879, the best part of the Montenegrin army of 4,000 soldiers, under the command of Mark Milan, undertook a furious attack from the sector of Nikshiq, in the direction of Plava and Gucia. The Albanian League’s volunteer forces halted the Montenegrin attack, forcing them to retreat within the Montenegrin borders.

-The patriot and Albanian National Renaissance activist, Hasan Xhiku, together with other patriots from Gjirokastër, on December 4, 1912, raised the national flag in his hometown, thus expressing the will to join the temporary Government of Vlora.

-On December 4, 1912, the Albanian Army was founded. From the first day of its creation, the national army sacred duty was territorial and integrity protection of homeland.

-The Committee “National Defense of Kosova” on December 4, 1918 headed a protest to the Peace Conference in Paris against the massacres of the Serbian army and government on the Albanian population of Kosova. 

-On December 4, 1922, the US-Albania credentials were presented by Extraordinary Envoy and Plenipotentiary Minister, Ulysses Grant-Smith. His mission ended on February 8, 1925.

-On December 4, 1925, Albania managed to defend before the Council of the League of Nations the issue of the Albanian minorities in Greece and submit a report on this problem.

-In Konispol, on December 4, 1944, the Çamëria partisan battalion was formed, which was the first WWII partisan resistance battalion in the Gjirokastër district.
