Camus’ “The Stranger” on Stage at the Experimental Theatre

This weekend, the Experimental Theatre “Kujtim Spahivogli” presents the play “The Stranger: From the Depth of My Heart.”

The premiere took place last night. Actors Rafael Hoxhaj, Linda Jarani, Kleard Gërmenji, and Ronaldo Kolgjokaj performed on stage. The drama is based on “The Stranger” by Albert Camus, a masterpiece of 20th-century literature.

The play explores themes of absurdity, indifference, and the human condition. It follows the character Meursault. Director Jonathan Bertolai adapted and dramatized the work.

The story begins on the last night of a man sentenced to death. Meursault revisits key moments of his life. He recalls unfulfilled loves, encounters, the murder, the lawyers, and the trial. This is the night when meaning either becomes clear or disappears forever.

Director Bertolai creates a poetic and metaphysical universe on stage. Lighting by Orlando Bolognesi, soundscapes by Rafael Marinaj, and costumes by Sofi Kara support the vision.

The play continues at the Experimental Theatre for three more nights, on December 19, 20, and 21.
