The German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, at the press conference at the end of the Berlin Summit in Tirana, clearly stated that the conflict between Kosova and Serbia must be finally resolved.

The chancellor has condemned the attack on the police in the north of Kosova and this, according to him, “is unacceptable”.

“Germany is very clear about this, but there must be a full investigation that must be done by the Kosovan authorities and it is important that the Serbian authorities cooperate in this direction,” the chancellor underlined.

Scholz emphasized that Germany understands very well the situation in the Western Balkans, but emphasized that it should be seen from the future and not the past.

 “All the problems must be solved before we are part of the EU. You cannot integrate into the EU taking with you the problems you have here. We appreciate the reforms that have been taken and other aspects, but this is my answer regarding the situation in Kosova with Serbia. Regarding integration, today’s agreements that were signed between the countries are important for us. We must resolve the conflict between Kosova and Serbia once and for all,” Scholz stressed.
