Competition for the realization of works of art in public spaces is opened

The Albanian government has announced the latest initiative to realize works of art in public space. The initiative was presented at an event attended by Prime Minister Edi Rama, Minister of Culture Elva Margariti and artists who have agreed to be involved.
During his speech, the head of government announced that there will be 18 works of art that will be placed in 18 different public spaces.
“It is a program that will of course require the test of experience to see how it will go, what can be improved, what will be the suggestions or criticisms of the community, related artists and of course to guaranteed sustainability of the program it would be good to give shape to a special institutional art structure in public spaces. The program has the stimulation and support of the actors themselves, the protagonists of this artistic scene. At the very end, I have a lot of confidence in the inclusion of artists who have the right talent and professionalism, the impact on public spaces and all those points that are seen by many eyes and discussed among people, will be important.
It will be best to have fair and quality selections. The important thing is not to burn this fund, it is considerable. It is something completely new for us and you should try to understand “, declared the Prime Minister Edi Rama.
The deadline for submitting projects will be August 7 and for the project that each artist will bring there will be no limit fund of the work.
