Constitution of Kosovo Assembly – President Osmani calls session for Wednesday at noon

Immediately after the Central Election Commission (CEC) certified the final results of the December 28 parliamentary elections, Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani scheduled the Assembly’s constitutive session for Wednesday at noon.
“After consulting with the majority of parliamentary parties and considering the urgent need to form institutions, approve the budget, and finalize international agreements, the President decided to call the constitutive session for February 11, 2026, at 12:00,” the Presidency announced.
On Monday, the CEC certified the results of the early parliamentary elections with 11 votes in favor, paving the way for the formation of new institutions. The results covered 24 political entities, including the Serbian List. Two members of the CEC from the Vetëvendosje Movement also voted in favor.
Sami Kurteshi mentioned the Serbian List and his party’s reservations regarding the group representing Kosovo’s Serbian community. Arianit Elshani from the Democratic Party of Kosovo expressed a similar view.
According to the certified results, Vetëvendosje won the elections with over 51 percent of the vote, securing 57 seats in the Assembly. The Democratic Party of Kosovo came second with 20.19 percent, translating into 22 deputies. The Democratic League of Kosovo followed with 13.24 percent or 15 deputies. The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo won 5.50 percent, gaining six seats.
From the seats reserved for the Serbian minority, the Serbian List won nine seats, making it the largest Serbian party in Kosovo, while the Party for Freedom, Justice, and Survival led by Nenad Rashić took one seat. Non-Serb minorities secured 10 seats.
