Cultural heritage of Durres, music, exhibition, theater attract foreign and domestic tourists this summer season

The cultural heritage of Durres has served it more than ever this year to attract foreign and domestic tourists.
The harmonization of artistic activities has been the right formula for the promotion of archaeological assets during these months. Thus, July ended with 10 evening concerts of the International Chamber Music Festival, which for this 17th edition was held at the premises of the Archaeological Museum.
Music, exhibitions, but also the magic of the theater seems to have strengthened the “walls” of historical and archaeological memory. In the Amphitheater, the actors of the Durrës theater have spoken in Shakespeare’s language in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” throughout this season. The play “Not my fault” is the next part that will be performed under the direction of Mimoza Marjanaku from August 10.
The Archaeological Museum undoubtedly remains one of the most attractive oases to discover ancient Durrës and its history. And this year, it seems, it has been auspicious for visitors who journey through artifacts from prehistory to discoveries of recent years.
The statue of Gea, the sculpture of the Roman emperor, ceramic objects, the coins of ancient Dyrrah, but also discoveries of the underwater world, tell not only the history of the city, but also the colossal work that has been done by archaeologists.
The museum will continue the artistic activities that revitalize it with more tourists until the reconstruction.
