The Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Petr Fiala, has congratulated Albania and North Macedonia for holding the first Intergovernmental Conference, considering this as a “milestone” on the way to the integration of the two countries into the EU. He said that the Union will now be stronger.

“On behalf of the Czech Presidency, I congratulate you and your countries on this milestone. We will be stronger and your choice that has already been tested many times. Given the Russian aggression, we appreciate your attitude. We are honored that such progress occurs during our Presidency. The Czech Republic and Central Europe know very well the importance of European integration for democracy. The future of the European Union is within the EU”.
