De-escalation of the situation in the north of Kosova, Lajçak meets the Deputy Prime Minister of Kosova, Besnik Bislimi in Bratislava

The EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Prishtina Dialogue and other regional issues of the Western Balkans, Miroslav Lajcak, has held a meeting in Bratislava with the first deputy prime minister in Kosova, in charhe for European Integration, Development and Dialogue, Besnik Bislimi.

Focus of the meeting was the de-escalation of the situation in the north of Kosova, in accordance with the statement of June 3 of the EU, which requires the withdrawal of Kosova’s special forces from the 4 municipalities with a Serb majority, the holding of immediate local elections in these 4 municipalities, and the participation of Serbs in these elections.

The news about the meeting was made known by Mr. Lajcak himself.

“Intensive bilateral discussions took place today in Bratislava with the Deputy Prime Minister, Besnik Bislimi, on the de-escalation of the situation in the north of Kosova, in accordance with the EU27 statement from June 3, and the way forward in the implementation of all Dialogue Agreements. We agreed on the first steps towards this goal.” – writes Lajçak.
