Demonstrations Showed That Freedom Has a Voice, Says Ambassador Kuko; Netherlands Supports Albania’s EU Path

Hundreds of citizens from Kosova, Albania, and the diaspora wore red and black in The Hague. They showed support for former UÇK (KLA) leaders during this crucial trial phase.
Albania’s ambassador to the Netherlands, Artur Kuko, told RTSH that the demonstrations loudly expressed that freedom has a name.
“Freedom spoke loudly, firmly, and clearly, as you could see during the recent events. Let me express my confident feeling that justice will be served sooner rather than later. I hope that within the next six to seven months, we will get an answer that will please us all. I am part of that loud, strong, and clear voice,” Ambassador Kuko said.
The diplomat also spoke about bilateral relations between Albania and the Netherlands, and about European integration.
“The Netherlands remains a country that continues to support Albania’s European path. This support is based on a well-established principle: strict, fair, and committed. Public opinion in the Netherlands is increasingly backing Albania,” Ambassador Kuko added.
Responding to Prime Minister Rama’s criticism calling for more attention to economic diplomacy, the ambassador said:
“We continue our efforts to generate as much interest as possible from the Dutch economic sector to be present in Albania. Opportunities exist far beyond current trade levels”.
Ambassador Kuko also noted that support among Dutch citizens for Albania’s European integration is growing.
