Dialogue with Serbia/ Kurti: The association is included in the European agreement

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has openly admitted that the Association is also included in the European proposal for the agreement with Serbia.
In an interview for RTK, Kurti stated that Article 10 of this agreement requires the parties to confirm their obligation to implement past agreements, including the Association.
“There is an Association, Article 10 states that both parties confirm their obligation to implement past agreements for which they remain valid and binding. There are 39 agreements. Two of them, the agreement for the return of the cadastral books that has not happened even to this day, while that first agreement of principles, where the first 6 points are for the Association, is the 16th agreement. There are many agreements, that we must handle carefully, but of course what happens in Article 7 refers to the Serbian community in Kosovo. We have been creative and committed to a specific issue of managing the Serbian community in Kosovo, especially regarding the provision of services,” Kurti said.
After a long marathon of talks on Sunday (March 19), the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and the Serbian President, Aleksandar Vucic, agreed on how to implement the agreement proposed by the European Union for the normalization of relations between them. Last month they agreed on an 11-point EU plan to normalize relations.
The European unification plan calls for the two countries to maintain good neighborly relations and recognize each other’s official documents and national symbols. The agreement, compiled by France and Germany, and supported by the USA, does not directly call for mutual recognition between Kosovo and Serbia, but for the Prime Minister of Kosovo, this act means a de facto recognition of Kosovo.
