On December 3, 1926, Drita Pelinku was born in Vlora. She became one of the most influential figures in Albanian theatre and cinema.

Pelinku shone on stage for decades with her talent, voice, and artistic finesse. She left an extraordinary legacy with over 150 roles. Notable works include “Njeriu me top”, “Vajzat me kordele të kuqe”, “Tana”, “Radiostacioni”, and “Përtej mureve të gurta”.

Her career spanned six decades, covering acting, directing, and teaching. From 1976, she was a beloved pedagogue in Performing Arts, inspiring generations of actors.

She received top honors: “Mjeshtre e Madhe”, “Artiste e Merituar”, the Career Award, the Ismail Qemali Prize, Vlora’s Citizen Honor, and the nation’s highest title, “Nderi i Kombit”.
