During his speech at the reception on the 15th anniversary of Kosova Independence Declaration, the ambassador of Kosova in Albania, Skënder Durmishi, spoke also about Albania-Kosova relations.
Durmishi appreciated Kosovo’s cooperation with Albania and emphasized the 180 reached interstate agreements, assessing the agreements for the Durrës-Prishtina railway, the dry port of Prishtina, the unique primer and on border crossings as historical agreements.

“Our interstate relationship is very special and so is the cooperation. I can state with pleasure and solemnly that it is a very good level of cooperation in politics, economy, foreign policy, culture and all fields,” he said.
We currently have 180 interstate agreements, memoranda, cooperation protocols. The figure does not constitute any importance as an indicator, but to put it briefly, all areas of cooperation are already covered by legal infrastructure. Some of the agreements are historic, such as the decision on the Durrës-Prishtina railway, the dry port of Prishtina, the unique primer, the border crossings. Now the challenge remains in the quality of cooperation. In this direction, we need to do more,” said Durmishi.
Next, Durmishi added that, “we need to do more production, more export, more economic projects based on complementarity, more cultural exchanges, sports leagues”.
The Ambassador of Kosova in Tirana, Durmishi evaluated Albania’s role in foreign policy, emphasizing Albania’s role in the Security Council, the EU Summit in Tirana and the integration processes of Albania in the EU.
“In foreign policy, the two countries follow identical principles. We have not only a political objective, but also a state and national identity. Albania has good results in foreign policy. It is enough to mention the mandate in the UN Security Council, the trust for the organization of the EU-Western Balkans Summit, the opening of negotiations with the European Union, Tirana the European Youth Capital,” he said.
