The Durrës Archaeological Museum is in the final phase of restoration, Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Sports Blendi Gonxhja said today.

“Work continues daily, and we are getting closer to reopening it to the public,” Minister Gonxhja stated.

The museum, together with the Ethnographic Museum of Durrës, is undergoing restoration and conservation funded by the European Union and implemented by UNOPS in partnership with MTKS.

Once reopened, the museum will return to the map of important Durrës sites, showcasing Albania’s rich heritage to both local and international visitors.

The museum suffered significant damage during the 2019 earthquake.
