Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Igli Hasani said today, referring to the results of the elections in North Macedonia that the common future is the European Union.

According to him, the result achieved by Albanians in North Macedonia is a historic outcome for the future coexistence among ethnicities, religions, and cultures in harmony and mutual respect.

“I greet the historic result of Albanians in the elections of May 8, 2024, in North Macedonia. For all of us, the present has only one common denominator: coexistence among ethnicities, religions, and cultures in harmony and mutual respect. The future moves only in one direction: towards the European Union and the family of democratic countries,” Hasani writes on social networks.

In the elections in North Macedonia, VMRO DPMNE was declared the winner both in the presidential runoff and in the elections for the new Parliament.

From Albanian parties, the Democratic Union for Integration (BDI) won 18 mandates. The coalition of Albanian opposition, VLEN, managed to secure 13 mandates, while the rest were divided between the Left Party and the ZNAM movement.
