Eno Peçi waltzes with young people at Skënderbeg Square, the Austrian ambassador Christian Steiner also joins the dance

The sounds of the Viennese waltz filled Skënderbej square yesterday evening, while the well-known dancer Eno Peçi, who came from the Vienna State Opera, performed on the square with the ballerina and young people from Albania.
“It’s a slightly different, adapted waltz. It is important that the waltz goes to young people. Dance is not just for the theater, the love of dance is for everyone. I spent my childhood in Albania and every time I return I feel a kind of nostalgia”, says dancer and choreographer Eno Peçi.
The activity “Waltz with the youth” was organized by the Austrian Embassy and the national youth congress within the framework of the Year of Tirana as the capital of youth. Ambassador Christian Steiner joined the young people in the waltz.
“Within Tirana as the European Youth Capital, we wanted the Austrian embassy to do something with young people, and the waltz is representative of Vienna. We learned it from an early age in Austria and I am happy that this activity brings the ballet star Eno Peçi to Tirana. I’m glad that the activity is on the square and it’s for everyone”, says Austrian Ambassador Christian Steiner after the performance.
By taking the waltz out of theater halls and onto the square, the aim is to bring young people closer to art and spread it regardless of nations and peoples.
