On the second day of his visit to Kosovo, the US special envoy for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, will be received by President Vjosa Osmani, Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Speaker Glauk Konjufca.

The meeting with President Osmani will be at 09:00, while the meeting with the Speaker of the Assembly, Glauk Konjufca, will be at 10:20. Escobar’s meeting with Prime Minister Kurti will be at 11:00. Escobar’s visit precedes tomorrow’s meeting between Kosovo and Serbia in Ohrid for the agreement on the European plan.

At the Ohrid meeting, the parties are expected to discuss ways of implementing a Western plan for the normalization of relations, which does not foresee mutual recognition, but requires the parties to respect each other’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

“I would like to see the agreement during this calendar year. I think that is completely possible,” Escobar said two days ago.
