The European Union Ambassador to Kosovo, Aivo Orav, has stated that the newly elected government must fulfill the expectations of the people, who aspire to join the EU.

“To achieve this, the new government must work very actively. Difficult tasks must be accomplished, and necessary reforms must be implemented,” Orav was quoted as saying on X by the EU Office in Kosovo, in a statement to the Associated Press.

On the evening of February 9, following the closure of polling stations, the Central Election Commission (CEC) began releasing preliminary election results.

As of 19:10, the CEC had counted 99.17% of the votes from 2,512 out of 2,533 polling stations. According to these figures, the Vetëvendosje Movement, in coalition with the Guxo and Alternativa parties, leads with 40.83% of the vote, totaling 339,350 ballots, KosovaPress reports.
