Kurbini offers visitors more than sights. Its people – generous and simple – carry their heritage in daily life.

The “Timeless Tastes” project explores Kurbin’s culinary traditions. It is run by the Albanian Local Capacity Development Foundation (ALCDF) under EU4Culture.

The project’s goal is simple: highlight Kurbin’s hidden heritage by connecting tradition with skills, community, and sustainable tourism.

Dhurata Thanasi, culinary entrepreneur and food activist, led the initiative. She visited kitchens, gardens, and family yards. Generations – grandmothers, mothers, and youth – shared recipes, memories, and knowledge.

ALCDF published the “Kurbin Recipe Book”, celebrating local knowledge, creativity, and women’s empowerment.

EU4Culture noted that initiatives like this unite tradition, skills, and sustainable tourism, creating spaces where culture and community meet.
