‘European Culture Week’, Ukrainian handicrafts present traditional works in Shkodra

Ukrainian artisan Maryna Nakonechna has been living in Albania for 2 months. She has chosen “Europe Week” in Shkodra to exhibit traditional works and to convey the message of peace.
“I am here trying to introduce Ukrainian culture because I want to show the country and the world that we want to live in peace. We are here showing our culture and our symbols,” she said.
Maryna Nakonechna expresses concern for the family, which is at the heart of the war.
“It’s so hard to live without my family, I talk to them on the phone and I understand what is happening. I hope we will be together soon,” said Maryna.
Her stand was visited by the ambassadors of some European countries and the head of the delegation, Alexis Hupin who emphasized solidarity.
“Minister Schuman’s words in the Declaration of May 9, 1950, based on peace and solidarity, make more sense and should make us stronger in times of crisis,” he said.
“Europe Week 2022” started in Shkodra with artistic performances and fairs and then continued in Vlora. The activities conclude on May 9 in Tirana, when the day of the founding of the EU is celebrated.
