The Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) has been praised by the European Western Balkans for its continued commitment to the European future of the region, strengthening regional cooperation and the link between the region’s economies, through the realization of free roaming in the Western Balkans, and for the work done to advance economic cooperation in the Western Balkans.
 
“Thank you European Western Balkans for choosing to honor RCC with this award. I am pleased and excited because it does not happen every day that the work, effort and dedication is recognized and appreciated in this way, “said RCC Secretary Majlinda Bregu at the awards ceremony.” We are truly Western Balkan Europeans, a regional organization which feels proud of achieving tangible results for our citizens “she said.
Ms. Bregu reiterated that “RCC works in the field of politics – which is not easily seen or perceived by the general public. But everything we do aims to improve the lives of the citizens of the Western Balkans and bring them one step closer to each other.

“With each other and with Europe, we are proud to have an important role in enabling free roaming in the Western Balkans, while also working to reduce roaming costs between the EU and our region.”
But Ms. Bregu said this is not the only focus on the RCC agenda. “It is also the mutual recognition of professional and academic qualifications throughout the region, free travel for citizens within the Western Balkans only with identity cards, are the initiatives for the environment that have created our green regional agenda, continuous digitalization, empowerment of women and young people to stop the brain drain outside the region, etc. All this is done in a regional approach, for a better region “- said Ms. Bregu.
 
Each year, the European Western Balkans (EWB) commends individuals and organizations for their contribution to the region’s European integration. 
 Nemanja Todorović iptiplija, Editor-in-Chief of European Western Balkans said: “This is the first time that the annual EWB award has been given to an organization, namely the Regional Cooperation Council. “We believe that the collective efforts that the RCC has made for the Europeanization and economic integration of the region since its inception in 2008 have irreversibly shaped the Western Balkans for good.”

EWB is a regional portal established in 2014 and specializing in the European integration process of the Western Balkans. It also pursues topics related to a common European WB future, such as regional co-operation, political stability and the adoption of reforms in key areas.
