Young Albanian director Evi Gjoni will be the only Albanian participant at the Sarajevo International Film Festival.

She is one of 63 selected candidates and will compete in the “Script Station” section. The festival, held in partnership with the prestigious Berlinale format, brings together top directors and screenwriters from 20 countries. Over 560 people applied.

Gjoni’s film *Sheets*, funded by the Albanian National Film Center, has already won awards in Tirana, Lisbon, London, Athens, Turkey, and Trieste.

The Sarajevo Film Festival will take place from August 15–22, 2025. Most applications came from Greece, Romania, and Turkey.

The 2025 Talents Sarajevo edition focuses on rapid tech changes, streaming platforms, and Artificial Intelligence. It also highlights the voices of filmmakers from the region. Through dialogue with peers and industry experts, participants will explore mental health in filmmaking—as a shared responsibility, not just a personal one.
