Exhibition of American pop art, first time for the Albanian public, features 39 works by Andy Warhol

The exhibition of American Pop Art opens with 39 paintings by the artist Andy Warhol for the first time in the region and for the Albanian public. Located in the 3 halls of the Tirana Art Gallery, this exhibition presents some of the artist’s most famous works.
“The gallery has taken on a museum profile, with 39 works by artist Andy Warhol from the pop art movement, coming through a private collection that we borrowed from Slovenia, which are screen prints,” said Edit Pula, director of GAT.
Making such an exhibition part of Albania was not easy; it took over 7 months of intensive work to achieve the final result.
“It has been a very difficult process because you have to build trust; these are works of great value and particular importance,” said the director of GAT.
Warhol is an iconic figure of the American art scene in the 20th century and the most typical representative of Pop Art, known worldwide, so the impact of this exhibition has been quite high. For all art lovers, this exhibition will remain open until August 5th.”
