On August 25, family, friends, and colleagues gathered at the University of Fine Arts to pay their final respects to journalist and publicist Artur Zheji, who passed away two days earlier. Later, officials reported that the coffin will be escorted to its final resting place near the Tufina Cemetery in Tirana.

Observers noted that Zheji was a prominent figure in Albanian journalism. He led the Albanian Radio and Television, the Albanian Telegraphic Agency, and several print media outlets. Sources emphasized that he stood out for his analytical writing and critical style.

Meanwhile, several artists and politicians shared their reflections on his life and work. Rajmonda Bulku described him as free, wise, and cultured, highlighting that he dedicated his life to speaking truthfully. She added that many valued his eloquence and considered him a voice of reason.

Paskal Milo recalled knowing Zheji for about 28 years. He said that Zheji conducted his first journalistic interview in Rome and later maintained a cooperative relationship. Milo noted that Zheji reached the peak of Albanian publicism, combining expressive journalism with deep philosophical thought.

Timo Flloko described Zheji as an extraordinary personality with a deep artistic spirit and sensitivity. He added that Zheji’s passing left a significant void.

Blendi Gonxhja emphasized that Zheji’s death represented a major and untimely loss for public life. He noted that Zheji contributed widely to media and public discourse, and that both his family and the public feel his absence deeply.

Observers recalled that Zheji maintained a rich career in media. He specialized in analysis and opinion and held leading positions in several outlets, culminating as Director General of Albanian Radio and Television.

In addition, sources highlighted Zheji’s contributions to cultural heritage. As the son of scholar Petro Zheji and actress Besa Imami, he left a notable legacy as a playwright. The National Theatre stated that his work reflected society and enriched both media and the national stage.
