Fatos Qerimaj celebrated in symphonic concert, RTSH Symphony Orchestra premieres new work

TIRANA, January 28 – Composer and conductor Fatos Qerimaj spoke on RTSH1’s “Good Morning Albania” about a special concert dedicated to his music. The concert will take place on January 30 at 19:00 on the stage of the Opera and Ballet Theatre.
The program will open with a piece by Mozart. Qerimaj said he chose it to show the roots of classical music and provide an artistic reference.
The concert will feature the world premiere of Qerimaj’s “Exile Symphony”. It will also include “Overture Epirus” and “Symphonic Suite”.
Qerimaj said the RTSH Symphony Orchestra has very high standards. He said he feels privileged to perform with them. He added that the concert creates a fusion of tradition and modern symphonic music.
He explained that the concert is meant to be felt rather than explained. The music highlights Albanian traditional themes, rhythms, and harmonies. It expresses the country’s cultural heritage.
Qerimaj emphasized that the works speak to emotions and imagination. He said the “Exile Symphony” includes many traditional themes. He added that the opening Mozart piece connects the audience with classical roots.
