Fidan Aliti: We Aim to Take Kosovo to the World Cup

Fidan Aliti spoke ahead of Kosovo’s friendly against Turkey. He said the team wants to fulfill a dream and take Kosovo to the World Cup.
Aliti plays for Corendon Alanyaspor in the Turkish Super League. He said Turkey has skilled players at every position. Aliti praised the Turkish people. He said they treated him and his family with great respect. His son was born in Alania. He called Turkey a special place in his heart. But he added: “We won’t give gifts. We want to achieve a dream for ourselves, our country, and our families, and take Kosovo to the World Cup.”
Aliti said Turkey is the favorite for tomorrow’s match. He called the game historic for both teams. He said both sides will start cautiously. “It will be an exciting and open match. We know Turkey’s quality, and we know our strengths. We will show them on the field,” he said.
He recalled Kosovo’s play-off semi-final for Euro 2020. “Now we have more experienced players and promising young talent. I am one of the players with the most caps. We manage this process carefully, stay positive, and keep our feet on the ground. People here dream of the World Cup. We know we have a big step ahead to reach it,” he said.
Aliti said the 4-3 win over Slovakia motivated the team. “We showed character on the field. This is not the first time. We know our quality. People who haven’t seen us before saw a strong team. We are ready to achieve great things at any moment in a match,” he added.
