Prime Minister Edi Rama highlighted the importance of transforming the Central State Film Archive. He called it a vital investment in Albania’s cultural memory and identity.

“A bright archive is a nation that remembers,” Rama wrote on social media. He stressed that preserving and digitising film heritage is a national mission.

The transformation includes modernising the archive’s infrastructure and building. The project aims to meet contemporary standards for preservation and access.

The Central State Film Archive holds a valuable collection of Albanian cinema. It includes feature films, documentaries, and newsreels. Together, they reflect decades of the country’s social, cultural, and political life.
