Flights between Sofia and Tirana start in December

The low-cost airline company Wizz Air will launch a new direct route from Sofia to Tirana, Albania, Radio Bulgaria announces in the Albanian language. The flights will start from December 18, 2023 and will be three times a week – Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
There are currently no direct flights between the two Balkan capitals.
The flight market in Albania is experiencing a surprising growth. In 2022, 5.2 million passengers were recorded at the “Mother Teresa” international airport, while the expectations for this year are that this flow will reach 6.5 million.
Low Costs in Albania have the biggest burden. Low cost carriers fly in Albania about 58-60% of the market.
