The International Film Festival “Prishtina International Film Festival” (PriFest) opened its 14th edition yesterday evening at Kino Armata in Prishtina. The opening of this edition was preceded by an artistic performance dedicated to the founder and director of this festival, Vjosa Berisha, who passed away in June of this year.
At the opening of this festival, the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj appreciated the contribution of the founder of “PriFest” Vjosa Berisha.

The Mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, appreciated the figure of Vjosa Berisha who created, developed and grew PriFilm Fest.
“I have no other way to start this word, except by remembering our dear friend, Vjosa Berisha, the extraordinary woman who created, developed and grew PriFilm Fest, this wonderful film festival that honors our capital for 14 editions now . Throughout the previous editions, PriFilm Fest has brought us the best quality films from different countries, as well as famous filmmakers, directors and actors from countries such as America, Australia, Britain, and also from our region. This year, with Vjosa’s initiative, PriFilm goes one step further, with the international Festival from Odesa with the motto “Beyond Borders, Odesa at PriFest”, due to the absurd war in Ukraine, it is opening its own edition here in Pristina in co-organization with PriFilm Party. Dear friends of Ukraine, here in Pristina you are at home,” said Perparim Rama.
Dozens of Albanian and foreign films will be shown in several competition categories of this festival, which opened last night with the film “Vera andrron detin”.
With the motto “For Her”, this edition is dedicated to the founder and director of this festival, Vjosa Berisha. Meanwhile, the main award of the festival “Red Goddess for the best Balkan film” will bear the name of Vjosa Berisha from now on.
