TIRANA, August 13 – Agim Bubeqi, one of Flamurtari Vlora’s prominent footballers during the 1980s, has died.

Bubeqi was found dead in his apartment. He is believed to have died several days earlier. Neighbours noticed his absence and alerted the Police.

Born on April 7, 1963, Bubeqi spent his entire professional career with Flamurtari. He played as a forward.

He belonged to one of the most important generations in Flamurtari’s history. During the 1980s, the Vlora club became one of Albania’s strongest football teams. The team also made an impact in European competitions.
