French Ambassador talks about visa liberalization for Kosovo: Not all required conditions have been met

The Ambassador of France in Kosovo, Marie-Christine Butel in an interview for the Telegraph spoke about Kosovo-France relations, the issue of visa liberalization, her assessment of the work of the Kurti Government and the final Kosovo-Serbia agreement.

In this special interview, Ambassador Butel said that France is among the first countries to recognize Kosovo’s independence and the country that helped its citizens in 1999. She said that the government has a solid majority, which enables it to carry out reforms that the country needs.

Regarding the issue of visa liberalization for Kosovo and the reluctance of its state, she said that France considers, along with several other member states, that all the required conditions have not yet been fully met at this stage.

Therefore, according to her, they remain attentive to developments regarding the rule of law as well as the fight against corruption and organized crime activities in Kosovo.
