George Kastrioti Skanderbeg’s statue unveiled in Garana, North Macedonia on National Flag Day

TIRANA, November 29 – On National Flag Day, a statue of George Kastrioti Skanderbeg was unveiled in Garana, Kërçova, North Macedonia. The statue is an enduring symbol of freedom, resilience, and national pride.
Ali Ahmeti, leader of the Democratic Union for Integration in North Macedonia, said the event comes on a day when hearts beat stronger for red and black. He added that it recalls the path of sacrifice that brought Albanians to this point.
During the day, officials paid tribute at the Albanian Mother monument in Zajaz. The monument represents dedication, sacrifice, and unconditional love that kept families and the nation alive through the centuries.
Ahmeti said the double tribute to the hero and the mother reminds everyone that freedom and identity are a shared legacy of men and women who gave everything for the future.
