Germany and France: Kosova and Serbia to implement the agreement, Vucic to respect the obligations

France and Germany have called for the implementation of the agreement by Serbia and Kosova that provides for the normalization of relations between the two countries.
Ambassador Guerot has expressed that he expects Aleksander Vucic to respect the obligations arising from the agreement, otherwise there will be consequences for both parties.
“It is too early to say what the consequences will be and now we have to focus on the benefits”, said Guerot in the debate on the implementation of the Agreement between Kosova and Serbia on the normalization of relations, which was held on Friday, at the Media Center in Çaglavica, near Prishtina. On February 27, the Prime Minister of Kosova, Albin Kurti, and the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic accepted the Agreement for the normalization of relations based on the European proposal, while on March 18 in Ohrid, they agreed on the Annex for its implementation.
The French ambassador emphasized that the main negotiators within the dialogue, Besnik Bislimi and Petar Petkovic will meet on April 4 in Brussels and assessed that this is the first step towards the implementation of the Agreement.
Meanwhile, the German ambassador in Kosova, Jorn Rohde, has emphasized that he is optimistic about the implementation of this Agreement.
“Now we also have the political will of the actors”, said Rode.
He expressed the opinion that the Agreement for the normalization of relations is a “long-term obligation” and added that Kosova should respect the part that deals with the self-management of the Serbian community in Kosova, while Serbia should not block Kosova’s membership in international organizations.
The German ambassador added that this agreement will make life easier for ordinary citizens, especially members of the Serbian community living in the north of Kosova.
