Germany Calls for Swift Formation of Kosovo’s Institutions

Germany expects Kosovo to form its parliament and government soon. Parliamentary State Secretary Johann Saathoff delivered this message during his visit to Prizren.

He stressed that Germany needs reliable partners. Therefore, he underlined Berlin’s commitment to support Kosovo on its EU path.

“We hope Kosovo will soon have a parliament and a government. Challenges may come, but we will overcome them together,” Saathoff said.

Moreover, he praised the Innovation and Training Park in Prizren. The former German camp is now a center of innovation, culture, and jobs. Today, it hosts over 60 companies and employs more than 430 young people.

Since 1999, Germany has invested about €900 million in Kosovo. These funds supported vocational education, renewable energy, sustainable urban planning, and modern administration. In addition, Berlin plans to continue this support to strengthen Kosovo’s European integration.

Meanwhile, Acting Minister of Industry Rozeta Hajdari stressed that Kosovo sees Germany as its key partner. She called the Innovation and Training Park an important step for regional growth in the Western Balkans.

Finally, Saathoff will meet state leaders, civil society, and visit German-supported projects during his stay.
