Albania captain Berat Gjimshiti spoke to the media today together with coach Sylvinho, ahead of the play-off match against Poland, which will be played tomorrow.

First, the captain said the team is ready to give its maximum. He stressed their goal is to turn a big dream into reality. He also said the chances are equal. Therefore, the team is fully motivated.

Next, he spoke about the pressure of the match.
“Yes, of course, we have felt it since we reached the play-offs. However, our recent matches show clear progress. So, we believe we will be ready to give our best tomorrow. The opponent has high quality. Still, we will try everything to achieve this dream,” he said.

Then, he addressed the squad despite several absences.
“I believe the team will be ready. This is a big opportunity. Experience is not the key factor here. Instead, desire, will, effort, and everything you give on the field matter most. The better team will win,” he said.

After that, he talked about facing Robert Lewandowski.
“It is very difficult, without doubt. He has played at a very high level for years. Few strikers reach that level. However, I will not be alone in stopping him. The whole team must perform well, both in defense and attack,” he said.

Moreover, he compared possible achievements.
“At this moment, I cannot choose. However, as captain, making history with Albania would be incredible. Still, we must go step by step. First, we focus only on tomorrow’s match,” he said.

Finally, he spoke about the chances and tactics.
“The chances are 50-50 when you enter the field. I play to win, and so does the whole team. We have gained valuable experience in recent matches. It will help us tomorrow. The coach decides the tactics. However, both attack and defense must be almost perfect to beat a team like Poland,” Gjimshiti concluded.
