The New National Theatre project has now entered the construction phase. Work continues intensively after the foundation was completed.

Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Sports, Blendi Gonxhja, said the project moved to this stage after completing complex underground works. Now, the theatre is taking shape as an iconic space for art and culture.

Designed by renowned architect Bjarke Ingels and the Danish BIG studio, the New National Theatre will become one of the most beautiful and representative theatres built in Europe after World War II.

The building rises on the site of the old theatre. According to the plan, it has two sections: one for actors and administration, and another for the audience.

Moreover, the New National Theatre will offer optimal conditions for actors and spectators. It is expected to rank among the best theatres of its kind in Europe.

Day by day, this theatre is shaping up as an architectural landmark. Ultimately, it will transform the capital into a European destination for contemporary art and architecture.
