Gonxhja: Over 12.4 Million Foreign Visitors in 2025

Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports Blendi Gonxhja shared tourism and culture statistics for 2025. The data show growing interest in Albania.
According to Gonxhja, the figures reflect the impact of government policies, completed investments, and cooperation between central and local institutions.
In concrete terms, more than 12.4 million foreign visitors traveled to Albania in 2025. This marks an increase of about 770,000 compared with 2024.
Notably, arrivals from Kosovo rose by 5.3 percent year on year.
At the same time, tourism revenues for the first nine months of 2025 reached €4.4 billion. This represents a 14.5 percent increase.
In addition, more than 1.5 million people visited cultural heritage sites. As a result, revenues from these sites grew by 30.63 percent compared with 2024.
Gonxhja said the data confirm rising interest in Albania as a destination. They also show steady improvements in standards, services, and the cultural offer nationwide.
However, the minister stressed the need for careful planning and sustainable management. He underlined the importance of strategic direction to ensure long-term benefits for communities, the economy, and Albania’s international image.
