Greece train crash/ President Begaj: Albania stands by the Greek people

President Bajram Begaj has reacted to the tragedy that happened during the night in the neighboring country, in Greece, where two trains collided with each other causing 38 victims.
In his reaction, President Begaj writes that he feels shocked by what happened in Greece. The head of state expressed his sincere condolences to the families of the victims, while wishing the survivors a speedy recovery.
Begaj further writes that he, in the capacity of the president, together with the Albanian state, stands beside the Greek people.
“Shocked by the tragedy of the train crash in neighboring Greece! Sincere condolences to the families of the victims, while I wish the survivors a speedy recovery. Albania and I stand side by side with the Greek people”, writes Begaj in his reaction to the tragedy that happened in Greece during the night when two trains collided with each other causing 36 victims.
The IC62 passenger train was riding along a route between Athens and Thessaloniki, when it collided with the cargo train about 255 miles north of Athens, in the area of Evangelismos. At the time of the collision, according to data published by the Hellenic Train company, there were about 350 passengers on board. When the train started its journey from Athens, there were 430 people, but 80 of them got off in Larissa, while the rest continued on until the serious collision of two trains near the city of Tempe.
