In the joint press conference with the German counterpart, Annalena Baerbock and Commissioner Oliver Varhelyi at the end of the meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Berlin process in Tirana, Albanian Foreign Minister Hasani said that “a very serious event has occurred, a criminal terrorist attack in the north of Kosovo that anyone who would hold the office that I have, would react in the same way”.

“Our stance towards the normalization process, on the other hand, remains unchanged and is in line with that of the European Union and the United States”, said Hasani.

However, he added, “we have stated and requested several times publicly and officially in the highest instances of the Euro-Atlantic community that the format of the normalization dialogue should be raised to the level of a normalization conference with the Franco-German road map at the negotiating table.

“We expect Serbia to launch a serious investigation into the terrorist criminal group potentially involved in the armed attack in the north of Kosovo and their connections with arms traffickers and other individuals or entities in Serbia or elsewhere. But, especially in the current situation, Kosovo-Serbia dialogue is the only way to peace. The parties must work courageously to reach a comprehensive agreement supported by the European Union and the United States which will enable mutual recognition between the two countries, Kosovo’s membership in the UN as well as the fair treatment of minorities always based on the Constitution and laws of Kosovo”, Minister Hasani concluded.
