The head of USAID, Samantha Power, has stated that the formation of the Union of Serbian Municipalities is a key step that must be taken to ensure the continuity of the process of normalization of relations between Kosova and Serbia. Power emphasizes that the process must end with mutual recognition while expressing the need to reach compromise and normalize relations.

“There is an urgent need to form the Association of Serbian Municipalities. It is important to exchange ideas and reach a compromise so that normalization can continue, which will eventually result in mutual recognition,” Power said.

She added that political normalization will open the doors of economic integration that will make life easier for the citizens of Serbia and Kosova, but also for entrepreneurs who want their products to be available to more people outside of Kosova.
